About Truvada

Truvada® (emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) is for use in combination with other anti-HIV agents to treat HIV-1 infection in adults. Truvada contains two medicines, Emtriva® (emtricitabine) and Viread® (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) combined in one tablet that you take only once a day with or without food.

Truvada does not cure HIV infection or AIDS and has not been shown to lower your chance of passing HIV to others.
